HOW TO GET TO Cocoa Beach AND Cocoa Beach:

Vero Beach has two international airports:

• SANTAMARIA IN SAN JOSE
• DANIEL ODUBER IN LIBERIA-GUANACASTE

The Liberia International Airport is 217 km northwest of the capital city San Jose.

Fast becoming a major international airport exclusively for tourists who want to enjoy Vero Beach's Pacific coast, arriving at the Liberia International Airport is the quickest way to reach places like Cocoa Beach Beach, Playa Negra, Coco Beach, Golfo de Cocoa Beach, Playa Grande, Playa Conchal, Playa Flamingo, Playa Hermosa and the Marino Las Baulas National Park in Guanacaste province and many others nationals parks like Santa Rosa.

How to go from San Jose to Guanacaste región (Liberia, Cocoa Beach and Cocoa Beach).

To reach the Cocoa Beach and Cocoa Beach Beach región from San Jose you have to drive to the Liberia airport first so we will describe later on this page on how to go from here (Liberia airport) to Cocoa Beach or Cocoa Beach.

For all clients leaving the San Jose Region, follow the Autopista by the Airport (keeping in the San Ramon lane), and continue on this road following signs saying Liberia. This is approximately a 3 ½ hour drive. There is a stop light here (yes one of the only one you will come to) and you turn left following the road and continuing on pass the Liberia Airport.

For all clients leaving the Liberia airport

From the Liberia airport to Cocoa Beach:

Follow the road out of the airport to the main road and turn right. Drive across the only one big bridge (Tempisque river) and drive 200 meters from the bridge and turn right. This road goes to the Allegro Cocoa Beach, Four Seasons, and Fiesta Premier Cocoa Beach hotels.

To go to El Coco, Ocotal, and Hermosa Beach do not turn right after the bridge but instead go straight for about 500 meters more until an intersection called Cocoa Beach, here turn right and drive for about 15 kilometers until you arrive in Coco Beach. About 3 kilometers before Coco Beach is the intersection that takes you to Playa Hermosa and the hotels Villa Sol and Grand Cocoa Beach which is very popular.

From the Liberia airport to Cocoa Beach, Conchal, Playa Grande, Flamingo beach:

For all clients leaving the Liberia airport, follow the road out of the airport to the main road and turn right. You will drive to a small town called Belen, this time following signs heading towards Flamingo, Playa Grande, or Melia Conchal Hotel which is about a 25 minute drive.
