 After we slayed the Trout at first light on Monday I took my guest from Kentucky to find Redfish!
I cut up some mullett and had them fish some sandspots on a flat in Vero Beach. We had to wait for a school of Redfish that had been showing up here the last few days. We caught a few Trout and Jacks on the cut bait while we waited. After about 40 minutes, out of nowhere the school of about a hundred Redfish came charging at the boat!!
The water turned Red and the intensity heated up as all four cut baits got slammed by upper slot Redfish. Talk about chaos, fighting four Reds at once is as chaotic as it gets! By the time we got all the fish to the boat the school was gone. There is nothing more exciting than being in a school of hungry Redfish! |
